Outer Pella
Hotels west and south of downtown exchange a walk to Central Park for on-site parking and direct highway access. This is the practical location for a Central College visit or a trip split between town and Lake Red Rock.
Lake Red Rock edges
Cabins and campgrounds around Lake Red Rock belong to a trip with a substantial outdoor day. They are not substitutes for a walkable downtown room during a parade-heavy Tulip Time visit.
Des Moines approach
Des Moines is a distant fallback when Pella and Lake Red Rock inventory is sold out. It requires a separate drive on Iowa Highway 163 and offers no downtown walking advantage.

The three current lodging picks are not interchangeable. Strawtown Inn favors the heritage district; Baymont adds breakfast and an indoor pool; Country Inn & Suites keeps a conventional hotel outside the festival streets.
